It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Moore Brudo.

Carol Moore Brudo went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2022, in Palm Desert CA, in her home. She was born on July 11, 1932 to Edwin and Iona Moore in Hamburg, NY. After graduating from Hamburg High School with honors in 1950 she attended Northwestern University in Illinois. She graduated from Northwestern University with her Bachelor of Science in 1954 and later married Don Burson. Carol moved to Indio, CA in 1960 with her husband Don, two children and a third child on the way.

After her first marriage ended in 1977, Carol moved back to her hometown of Hamburg, NY. It was there that she met her second husband, Robert Brudo and married him in 1983. She remained active with her elementary school friends, the Hamburg United Methodist Church, Erie County Fair and her golfing buddies. What she loved the most was getting together with all her distant cousins in West Valley. Her family ties were very important and special to her.

In 2004, her husband Bob passed away and she sold her house in New York and moved back to California to be near her children and grandchildren. In 2020, she wrote a book, “The Things We Leave Behind”, spotlighting stories of her family’s history and what they left behind for her and her family.

Although Carol is now with her Savior, she leaves behind her

Brother, Donald Moore of Springfield, VA and 3 nephews; three children-Geoff (Penny) Burson, Lori (Michael) Buccino and Susan (Richard) Bower. She has 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She very much enjoyed spending time with all her family and was comforted to have them surround her in her last days.

A memorial service will be held on June 13th at 10 am at Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church in Indio, CA. A private burial for the family will be held at a later date.

Memories and Condolences can be sent to Carol's daughter: Susan Bower 42-470 Sandy Bay Rd, Bermuda Dunes, CA. 92203

ANNOUNCEMENTS CALL TO WORSHIP

From self-righteousness that will not compromise, and from selfishness that gains by the oppression of others, O Lord, deliver us. From the lust of money or power that drives to kill. O Lord, deliver us. From trusting in the weapons of war, and mistrusting the councils of peace. O Lord, deliver us. From hearing, believing, and speaking lies about other nations O Lord, deliver us. From suspicions and fears that stand in the way of reconciliation. O Lord, deliver us. From words and deeds that encourage discord, prejudice, and hatred; from everything that prevents us from fulfilling your promise of peace. O Lord, deliver us. Amen. OPENING HYMN: “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty” #64 UMH

OPENING PRAYER God, whose fingers sculpt sun and moon and curl the baby’s ear; Spirit, brooding over chaos before the naming of day; Savior, sending us to earth’s ends with water and words: startle us with the grace, love, and communion of your unity in diversity, that we may live to the praise of your majestic name. Amen

GREAT THANKSGIVING

The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

...And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven

we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

...And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,

we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving

as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us,

as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

...Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,

all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father (God ), now and for ever. Amen.
