RAFFLE BASKETS NEEDED
27TH ANNUAL HUMANGO
AUGUST 18, 2024
DEAR CHURCH MEMBERS
Once again, we are looking forward to having a fun and successful HUMANGO fundraising event on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Your participation and donations will help make this a success.
We would appreciate individuals and groups of the church putting together a themed Raffle Basket (value of $50) or providing a $50 gift certificate to an area restaurant or business. Completed baskets, with shrink-wrap bags and bows, are greatly appreciated, but we can complete it with the clear bag and bow if you cannot. Please label your basket with the group or individual’s name who is donating. We want to ensure donors are recognized on the dinner placemat at the HUMANGO event at Byrncliff Golf Resort.
All baskets and gift certificates need to be left at the church by August 1,
or given to Pat Adema, (716) 206-4687 or Sue Gagne, (716) 200-8996.
Completed baskets, labeled with the donor’s name and “For HUMANGO,” can be left on the shelf in the coat room or the labeled box for HUMANGO.
Thank you very much for your donations and support!
Pat Adema, Sue Gagne, and the HUMANGO Committee

CALL TO WORSHIP
Here in this sanctuary,
we remember, o God, your gift of life to each of us;
and we seek to carry it to the streets-
wherever there is death and violence
wherever there is grief and loss.
Here in this sanctuary,
we remember, O God, your invitation to belong and find shelter;
and seek to carry it to the streets-
wherever there is loneliness and rejection
wherever there is homelessness and people are displaced.
Here in this sanctuary
we remember, o God, your reign of justice and righteousness;
and we seek to carry it to the streets-
wherever there is lawlessness or tyranny
wherever there is corruption and oppression.
Here in this sanctuary
we remember, O God, your sacrifice of love and mercy;
and we seek to carry it to the streets-
wherever there is hatred and evil
wherever there is homelessness, regret, and guilt.
Here in this sanctuary, we remember all that you have done for us, O God,
we remember also your call to live what we sing and pray.
And so we commit ourselves again
to carry our worship from the sanctuary to the streets.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
OPENING MUSIC: “Lift Every Voice and Sing” #519 UMH
OPENING PRAYER:
O God, keep our whole country under your protection.
Wipe out sin from this land;
lift it up from the depth of sorrow, O Lord, our shining light.
Save us from deep grief and misfortune, Lord of all nations.
Bless us with your wisdom,
so that the poor may not be oppressed
and the rich may not be oppressors.
Make this a nation having no ruler except God,
a nation having no authority but that of love. Amen
