RAFFLE BASKETS NEEDED

 27TH ANNUAL HUMANGO

 AUGUST 18, 2024

DEAR CHURCH MEMBERS

Once again, we are looking forward to having a fun and successful HUMANGO fundraising event on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Your participation and donations will help make this a success.

We would appreciate individuals and groups of the church putting together a themed Raffle Basket (value of $50) or providing a $50 gift certificate to an area restaurant or business. Completed baskets, with shrink-wrap bags and bows, are greatly appreciated, but we can complete it with the clear bag and bow if you cannot. Please label your basket with the group or individual’s name who is donating. We want to ensure donors are recognized on the dinner placemat at the HUMANGO event at Byrncliff Golf Resort.

All baskets and gift certificates need to be left at the church by August 1,

or given to Pat Adema, (716) 206-4687 or Sue Gagne, (716) 200-8996.

Completed baskets, labeled with the donor’s name and “For HUMANGO,” can be left on the shelf in the coat room or the labeled box for HUMANGO.

Thank you very much for your donations and support!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP

Come to Christ, that living stone, rejected by the world, but in God’s sight chosen and precious.

We have responded to Christ’s call, and seek to be built into a spiritual house, a living reminder of God’s presence on earth.

Once we were no people, but now we are God’s people, called out of the darkness into God’s marvelous light.

Therefore we sing with the Church in all ages:

Blessed be your name, O God, our Redeemer.

By your mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

OPENING MUSIC: ”In Christ Alone” #3105 Worship & Song

OPENING PRAYER:

Creator God, how lovely is the dwelling you have made for us!

You who create all things, we gladly awaken in your presence.

You are our maker, our host, and our home.

Risen Christ, how lovely is your dwelling with us!

You invite us to feast at your table:

to be nourished by your teaching,

to be healed by your grace,

and to share in this banquet of life

with all the other poor sinners of this world.

You who taught and healed, you who died and were raised,

you who are the Bread of Life, feed us with your presence,

fill us with your spirit, and head us by your word.We desire with all our heart and mind and strength

to die and live with you in the mystery of eternal life.

Holy Spirit, love of God, how lovely is your dwelling with us!

Wisdom of God, how gracious is your invitation to feast at your table.

You make of us on body, the Body of Christ.

God, we give our hearts to you,

that by your grace, we may devote ourselves to lives of compassion, justice and joy, for the sake of the transformation of the world,

in the name of Christ. Amen.
