RAFFLE BASKETS NEEDED
27TH ANNUAL HUMANGO
AUGUST 18, 2024
DEAR CHURCH MEMBERS
Once again, we are looking forward to having a fun and successful HUMANGO fundraising event on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Your participation and donations will help make this a success.
We would appreciate individuals and groups of the church putting together a themed Raffle Basket (value of $50) or providing a $50 gift certificate to an area restaurant or business. Completed baskets, with shrink-wrap bags and bows, are greatly appreciated, but we can complete it with the clear bag and bow if you cannot. Please label your basket with the group or individual’s name who is donating. We want to ensure donors are recognized on the dinner placemat at the HUMANGO event at Byrncliff Golf Resort.
All baskets and gift certificates need to be left at the church by August 1,
or given to Pat Adema, (716) 206-4687 or Sue Gagne, (716) 200-8996.
Completed baskets, labeled with the donor’s name and “For HUMANGO,” can be left on the shelf in the coat room or the labeled box for HUMANGO.
Thank you very much for your donations and support!
Pat Adema, Sue Gagne, and the HUMANGO Committee

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP
The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein;
for God has founded it upon the seas,
and established it upon the rivers.
Lift up your heads, O gates! and be liften up, O ancient doors!
that the Ruler of Glory may come in.
Who is the Ruler of Glory?
The lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, Mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be liften up O ancient doors!
that the Ruler of Glory may come in.
Who is this Ruler of Glory?
The Lord of hosts,
the Lord is the Ruler of Glory!
OPENING MUSIC:”Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” #139 UMH
OPENING PRAYER:
Creator God, Breathing your own life into our being,
you gave us the gift of life.
You placed us on this earth with its minerals and waters,
flowers and fruits, living creatures of grace and beauty.
You gave us the care of the earth.
Today you call us : “where are you; what have you done?”
[Silent prayer for creation]
We hide in utter shame, for we are naked.
We violate the earth and plunder it.We refuse to share the earth’s resources.
We seek to own what is not ours, but yours.
Forgive us, Creator God, and reconcile us to your creation.
O God of love, you gave us the gift of peoples-
of cultures, races and colors-
to love, to care for, to share our lives with.
Today you ask us: “Where is your brothers, your sister?”
[Silent Prayer for others.]
We hide ourselves in shame and fear.
Poverty, hunger, hatred, and war rule the eath.
The refugeess, the oppressed, and the voiceless cry out to you.
Forgive us, O God of Love,
and reconcile us to yourself and to one another.
Teach us, O Creator God of Love, that the earth and all its fullness if yours,
that the world and those who dwell in it.
Call us yet again to safeguard the gift of life. Amen.
