Hear the Sparks of Hope Director on May 9 at 7 p.m.
To all women: Come hear all about our own Sparks of Hope Recovery Support Center directly from its newish director Carolyn Grassmick on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Parlor. As part of our regular monthly gathering of Sarah Circle, Carolyn is excited to share what is new and what's happening at Sparks, how the center has and continues to positively impact lives in our community, how volunteers help and how we can help — and anything else she feels is important for us to know!
You may think you know about Sparks, or maybe you aren't exactly sure about its purpose and approach – now is your chance to learn or learn more. We especially want to extend the invitation for this special presentation to any woman interested to join us! Refreshments will be served.
We also asked how we might help out now. We have the opportunity to fill the cupboards at Sparks and help out those in need. As you are able, please bring to the meeting paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, or feminine hygiene products (tampons or pads).
We look forward to seeing you on May 9 at 7 p.m.!
Two weeks ago, Kathy Manguso informed SPRC that she would be leaving employment with SPRC. I want to take this opportunity to thank her for her years of service and to let you know that SPRC will be seeking a replacement for her to begin in May of this year.
We will be posting the job and working diligently to fill the position, but wanted to announce it to you and offer the first posting here. If you or someone you know might be interested; please contact SPRC by emailing either Rose Caldwell (rgscaldwell@msn.com) or me (pastordavid@hamburgumc.org).
I am sure God will provide the right person to help us manage the work of the Church here in Hamburg going forward!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor David

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP
Those who dwell in the slater of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord,
“My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
for the Lord will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence and will cover you with his pinions;
under the Lord’s wings, you will find refuge. God’s faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
For God will give his angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways.
they will bear yoU up on their hands Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
OPENING MUSIC: “Nothing Between My Soul and Savior” #373 UMH
OPENING PRAYER: O God, just as we look into a mirror to see any soiled spots upon our face, so let us look to you in order to understand the things that we have done amiss. We are like the reed shaken in the wind;we are inexpressibly weak. Leave us not to ourselves, but dwell in our hearts and guide our thoughts and actions. Amen
